The Boquete Gourmet |  TBG HOST CHEF PROGRAM

j0337024 On Thursday, I hosted the first in a series of “Host Chef Programs” in my kitchen. It was a huge success. Because several students in that class would like to come to other classes taught by gourmet chefs in the future, the “Host Chef Program” was born.

The “Host Chef Program” will provide people of all backgrounds and ages the opportunity to learn the art of fine cooking in a home-style setting. This is not a professional endeavor and it is not possible to achieve any “status”, “certification” or “degree” by teaching or attending these classes.

Whether your goal is to learn basic cooking skills, to enhance your knowledge and ability to cook and entertain, or to just have fun cooking and dining with others, the “Host Chef Program” is just right for you.

If you are a resident of Boquete or a visitor from afar, these unique classes will help to provide both chefs and students the opportunity to enrich their lives, either by teaching or by learning greater skills in the culinary arts.

Basically, the program has four (4) parts:
1. I, The Boquete Gourmet, will select chefs to host in my kitchen.
2. The chef will design a class to teach, one dish or a full meal, which best exemplifies their specialty, ie Mexican, vegetarian, cakes, etc.
3. A maximum of 12 students will attend demonstration, sous chef, or full hands-on style classes, as selected by the Guest Chef.
4. Students will receive the lesson, printed recipes, one drink of choice, and a serving of the dish or enjoying the complete meal; whichever is the subject for the class.

The goal of the “Host Chef Program” is to build community among people living or visiting Boquete. When we become more aware of the riches available here, both natural and human, we can enjoy an even more fulfilled and happy life.

    Hello there,

I just came across your food blog and was wondering if you’d be interested in taking part in my author’s virtual book tour.

Mimi Fix is the author of Start & Run a Home-Based Food Business and has already appeared on ABC’s NY Viewpoint, ABC News’ Money Matters and has been interviewed by numerous print publications on her expertise and background in starting and running a food business out of her own home.

Mimi’s got an interesting story to tell, being unemployed and a single mother with a hobby that soon turned into a full fledged food business.

If you’re interested, we could send over 10 sample interview questions (or you could provide the questions) that Mimi can answer and once we’re done, we’ll send over the entire interview for your blog, along with pictures and a free copy of the book (for a giveaway to your readers or for you to keep!).

Thank you for your time and I look forward to a response.
